Welcome to Atlanta Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Center (AMIGS) in Atlanta, Georgia. Our practice was founded in 2002 by Dr. Nathan Mordel. Dr. Mordel was joined by Dr. Heather Gibbons in 2008. Our physicians work together as a team in the operating room and the office and are dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate and comprehensive gynecological care, minimally-invasive surgical procedures and women’s health services. We pride ourselves in providing patients with a more personal touch, and we have a friendly, more personalized, small-practice atmosphere.

During business hours, our staff will answer the phone promptly. There are no automated voice messages or busy signals. After hours, Dr. Mordel or Dr. Gibbons will be paged and return your call. Also for patients’ convenience, we are usually able to schedule same day or next day problem visits and there is no long waiting period to schedule an annual exam. Our physicians share patients, so you may see either one whichever is most convenient for you. We don’t discriminate and welcome patients of all ages, races, sexual orientations, religions, and nationalities. Come check out our newly renovated office. Important to Know
AMIGS physicians are Independent Contractors performing surgeries in the hospital. We accept most Insurance carriers that have a contract with Piedmont Clinic. Please note these alternatives:
  • In the event that AMIGS does not accept your particular coverage but the hospital does, the regular hospital costs (which represent about 80-90% of the total expense) will continue to be covered under your policy. Your AMIGS out-of-pocket expenses for surgery will be the physician’s fees which are usually only 10-20% of the overall cost.
  • If the hospital does not accept your insurance and you need to pay out of pocket, you will usually receive a 40-50% discount from the hospital (provided your bill is paid within a certain time frame.)
